It may be a new concept, and not what you might expect of an estate agent, but at spanish home 4u we believe that what we do after the sale is as important as that we do before the sale. Our aftersales service is not prescriptive, there is not a defined list of what we do, rather we feel that if you would like our help with something then all you need to do is to ask. As a guide here are the usual aftersales topics that we deliver to our clients: We will already have introduced you to a local English speaking Spanish lawyer and if it has not been done already our immediate priority is to secure your NIE number, probably the single most crucial important piece of paper you'll need (the document is necessary for all non-residents buying property in Spain). We will arrange this for you. For information on English speaking Spanish lawyers click on the highlighted text. To pay your Spanish utility bills you'll need a Spanish bank account. We will take you to a Spanish bank and you can open an account whilst you are with us. On off-plan property purchases the most urgent thing is to ‘snag’ the property as soon as possible. Some purchasers like to do this themselves but most prefer to hand over responsibility to someone else, and so we do this for clients. The biggest and most time consuming task is normally to furnish the property. If you know your way around the area and which shops can be relied upon then this can be a delightful task. But most purchasers choose to buy a furniture package (that can include everything right down to knives and forks) from one supplier. We can take you to furniture shops or we can offer a full design service and we can do it all for you. In addition the fitting or changing of lights, fitting air conditioning (if the property does not already have it), security grills (if you want them - some do, some don't), safes, and alarms we can arrange for you. Note that if you buy on a Resort alarms and security grills are often seen to be unnecessary due to the high levels of proactive on-site security. If you plan to use your property as a holiday home you might need a property management concern to look after your property in your absence, and we have contacts with a number of property management service providers, not to mention that this is a service that we already provide ourselves to our clients at selected sites.
